Steve enjoys general family dentistry and gets great satisfaction from working with the patients at Ballina Coast Dental to provide a bespoke, oral health treatment plan. Steve qualified in 2000 as a Dentist in the UK where he grew up, working in both private and NHS practices. After working in both Australia and New Zealand, Steve decided to move permanently to Australia in 2009. Steve worked as a Dentist in Sydney for six years, until relocating up the coast to Ballina in 2016 when he purchased the practice from Steve Shelton. In Australia, Steve has enjoyed exciting and varied assignments with the Royal Flying Doctor Service in Northern Queensland, two assignments as Dentist for the Australian Defence Force in the Solomon Islands, and tutoring dental students at the University of Sydney School of Dentistry. When not at work, or on a course to learn new dental techniques, Steve enjoys exploring the Northern Rivers region with his wife and daughters.
Dr. Nineham is a dual national with origins from both Australia and Chile, having spent half her life in each country. Ale (pronounced “Ally”, as we call her) enjoys all aspects of general dentistry and is dedicated to providing a relaxed and comfortable environment for her patients. She is well known for her gentle care and patience, understanding the apprehension most people feel when visiting the dentist. Ale graduated with distinction in 2010 from the University of the Andes in Santiago, Chile and has constantly pursued furthering her studies, completing a postgraduate diploma in preventive and interceptive orthodontics in children. She has since completed many courses regarding root canal therapy and restorative dentistry. In 2018 Ale completed the Brener Implant Institute Master Implant Program. Ale loves dentistry because it not only makes a great difference in a patient’s oral health, it can change a person’s life. And that makes it her passion to help give back health, function and laughter. In her free time she enjoys going to the beach, travelling, and spending time with her family.
Caitlin graduated from the University of Melbourne with a Bachelor of Oral Health in 2018. Since then she has been working full time as an Oral Health Therapist. She is passionate about treating children and breaking down barriers of dental anxiety. Highlights of her dental experience so far include volunteering in the Northern Territory, participating in children’s dentistry and oral health promotion services in Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Communities of East Arnhem land. Prior to working as an OHT she worked as a Dental Assistant for over eight years, which has essentially formed the foundation of her dental career. Outside of work she loves spending time with family and friends. She enjoys staying active, being outdoors, travelling, snowboarding and spending quality time at the beach.
