Dr Steve Htay
Steve enjoys general family dentistry and gets great satisfaction from working with the patients at Ballina Coast Dental to provide a bespoke, oral health treatment plan.
Steve qualified in 2000 as a Dentist in the UK where he grew up, working in both private and NHS practices. After working in both Australia and New Zealand, Steve decided to move permanently to Australia in 2009.
Steve worked as a Dentist in Sydney for six years, until relocating up the coast to Ballina in 2016 when he purchased the practice from Steve Shelton. In Australia, Steve has enjoyed exciting and varied assignments with the Royal Flying Doctor Service in Northern Queensland, two assignments as Dentist for the Australian Defence Force in the Solomon Islands, and tutoring dental students at the University of Sydney School of Dentistry.
When not at work, or on a course to learn new dental techniques, Steve enjoys exploring the Northern Rivers region with his wife and daughters.
Dr Michael Lebert
Michael has recently relocated to Ballina having sold his practice in Sydney. Following graduating from the University of Sydney and studying at the Royal College of Surgeons in London, Michael’s dental career has spanned from providing dental service to the Royal Australian Navy, having his own practice in the renowned Harley Street, central London for ten years and most recently in Edgecliff in the Eastern Suburbs.
Michael has always felt that the health of the mouth was integral to general health and that the goal of modern dentistry was making patients comfortable, pain free and fully functional to enjoy an enhanced sense of living. Michael’s focus in dentistry is to:
1. Identify and eradicate all infections, inflammations and diseases in the teeth and gums which impact adversely on living and ageing with dignity.
2. To restore or preserve fully functional dental arches to enhance general nutrition and digestion by more efficient chewing.
3. To create a fresher, brighter and more youthful looking smile for renewed confidence and comfort.
Michael feels there is no antidote to kindness and looks forward to helping all those who trust their health to his care achieve their ideal smile.
